Ben Chamberlain Zivsak

Science biography

I’m a lab manager in the Robertson Lab at Dartmouth College. I’m broadly interested in understanding the neurobiological underpinnings of developmental conditions in children and adolescents using fMRI, and I'm curious about the relationship between memory and the development of sensory processing differences in autism. I recently graduated from Carleton College with a major in Psychology and minors in Neuroscience and Religion. At Carleton, I spent three years investigating the neural mechanisms of social behavior in Drosophila melanogaster using optogenetics and did PTSD prevention research with VR.

Non-science biography

I’m a Michigander and when not in lab, I can usually be found outside mountain biking, taking pictures, or reading under a tree. I equally enjoy playing old-time music on the fiddle and mandolin.

Special interests

Hiking, volunteering, blueberries.
