Katerina M Simkova
Science biography
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Robertson Lab, where I investigate how the language we speak shapes the way we visually perceive the world. Before joining Dartmouth, I studied cognitive advantage in Vietnamese-Czech bilinguals at the University of South Bohemia. I then moved to the University of Birmingham in the UK, where I completed my PhD on shared semantic representations in vision and language with Drs Ian Charest and Clayton Hickey.
Non-science biography
I grew up in a small town in Central Bohemia, Czech Republic. Outside the lab, you'll most likely find me on the dance floor practicing salsa or in the kitchen perfecting my curries.
Special interests
All things salsa (mambo, cha-cha-cha, pachanga) and cats
